In India COVID-19 second wave is affecting younger age group more. Here are five new symptoms warned by doctors for people to check. This may help you get a timely and correct diagnosis:

  1. Dry mouth

Dry mouth or Xerostomia occurs when the virus attacks muscles and oral tissues of the mouth. This symptom is common with other viral infections but it could hit before other symptoms such as fever or cough.

2. Gastrointestinal issue

Gut problems are the newest symptoms of COVID-19 right now. Gastrointestinal infections along with typical COVID-19 symptoms mark for a severe Covid case. However, in many Covid cases only abdominal problems show up.

3. Nausea

Nausea is the result of gastrointestinal problems. Vomiting is the most common symptom seen in younger patients in India. In severe cases, some patients also vomit blood which need proper medical attention.

4. Red and runny eyes

Studies have indicated that coronavirus patients also show conjunctivitis cases. Pink eye happens when the virus infects the conjunctiva tissue of our eyes. But unlike conjunctivitis, COVID-19 tends to affect one eye also. Constant eye irritation, sensitivity to lights can also be considered.

5. Headache

Headache and body pain are most difficult signs of this disease, as they easily go misdiagnosed. People who are affected by neurological problems due to Covid complain constant headaches and pain in skull bones. COVID-19 headache also feels different than usual headache according to patients.
